Crystal Palace have lodged a £16m bid for Lille centre-back Ibrahim Amadou, reports Sky Sports.
Roy Hodgson’s side have rekindled their interest in the 24-year-old in the wake of Scott Dann’s season-ending knee injury.
The Eagles are also without star defender Mamadou Sakho and Palace have reacted in a bid to enhance their chances of beating the drop.
Palace now only have James Tomkins, Martin Kelly and Damien Delaney as recognised centre-backs but have 10 days to prepare for their next Premier League match.
Amadou has only missed two Ligue 1 games for strugglers Lille this season and has also played in midfield for the French side this term.
In the last three Ligue 1 seasons, only Sebastien Corchia (325) has completed more tackles and interceptions for Lille than Amadou (303).
