West Bromwich Albion have rejected Saido Berahino's written transfer request, the club has announced.
Berahino, who only turned 22 this month, was omitted from the match day squad that lost 3-2 to Chelsea on Sunday amid talks linking the England U21 international with a move to Tottenham.
Spurs have already had a bid in the region of £18m for Berahino rejected this month and are likely to return with another offer as Mauricio Pochettino desperately looks to bring in help for Harry Kane.
Berahino has been tipped as a future England striker following two impressive Premier League campaigns at West Brom. In fact, of players to have finished last season aged 21 or under only Domenico Berardi (15) had scored more goals than Berahino (14) across Europe’s top 5 leagues.
