Real Madrid ready player-plus-cash deal for Tottenham ace Eriksen

Real Madrid are willing to offer Tottenham £45m and outcast midfielder Dani Ceballos in return for Christian Eriksen’s services, claims The Sun.

Eriksen has entered the final 12 months of his current Tottenham deal and has confirmed he wants a new challenge this summer.

The Denmark international’s hopes of joining Madrid hinges on whether the Spanish side manage to prise Paul Pogba away from Manchester United.

Pogba is Madrid’s preferred midfield target this summer but they are struggling to convince United to sell.

United have valued Pogba at £150m and Madrid are reportedly only willing to offer £90m for the 2018 World Cup winner.

A deal for Pogba looks unlikely as things stand, which boosts Eriksen’s chances of securing a high profile move to the Bernabeu.

Negotiating with Tottenham will be far from straightforward, however, as chairman Daniel Levy is holding out for £80m for the Dane from foreign sides.

Knowing Eriksen will be a free agent next summer, Madrid have no interest paying that much for the 27-year-old and hope to use Ceballos as a makeweight in a deal.

Ceballos has no future at Madrid and is free to leave after struggling to make any impression under Zinedine Zidane.

The Spanish giants are willing to offer Ceballos in addition to £45m in order to prise Eriksen away from Tottenham.

Since August 2015, Eriksen has provided at least five more assists than any other player in the Premier League (50).
