Alan Pardew has revealed he is close to agreeing a new deal to remain as Crystal Palace manager.
The former Newcastle manager still has more than two years remaining on the deal he penned when he became Palace manager in January 2015, but the Eagles are keen to extend his stay following the incredible work he has done at the club.
Pardew has already transformed Palace from relegation fighters to mainstays in the Premier League in just over 12 months and is close to extending his deal.
“They’ve progressed to a level where we are probably agreed. I am just waiting to see whether we are still a Premier League club, and that’s nothing to do with Steve Parish, it’s more to do with me.
“When I get this team over the line I’ll sit down and finalise it,” Pardew is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
Palace are currently experiencing their first serious dip in form under Pardew and are still searching for their first league win of 2016. In fact, no team has picked up fewer points than Palace in the Premier League since the turn of the year (1).
