Juventus sound out Tottenham duo

Italian powerhouse Juventus are sounding out moves for Tottenham duo Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld, reports the Daily Mail.

Both players are out of contract next summer and have shown no indication that they are prepared to extends their respective deals with the north London pair.

Eriksen was heavily linked with a summer exit, with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid both keen on the Dane, but Spurs rebuffed any efforts from the duo to land the former Ajax man.

Alderweireld was tipped to leave Spurs earlier this year as he had a £25m release clause that could have been triggered two weeks before the close of the English transfer window.

Juventus are not strangers to exploiting the free market having brought Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey to Turin over the summer following the culmination of their deals with PSG and Arsenal, respectively.

However, Juventus would face hefty competition for Alderweireld from Inter, who have also been courting the Belgian centre-back.

Juventus are eager to land a new centre-back after Giorgio Chiellini suffered a serious knee injury recently.

Spurs, though, are eager to tie both players down to a new deal, but are aware that the pair can negotiate a new deal with European sides from January 1st.
