Chelsea baulking at Juventus asking price for top target
Chelsea have put the brakes on a deal to sign Alex Sandro as they are not ready to match Juventus’ £60m asking price, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The defending Premier League champions have rekindled their interest in Sandro after learning the Brazilian left-back is unhappy at Juventus.
Antonio Conte’s side refused to meet Juventus’ £80m valuation in the summer and risk missing out on the 26-year-old again this month despite the fact Juventus have lowered their demands.
Failure to land Sandro for a second time in six months would further rankle with Conte, who has made his frustations about Chelsea’s recruitment be known on several occasions already.
Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Sandro but have reportedly cooled their interest following Luke Shaw’s resurgence.
Since the start of last season, only Paulo Dybala (7.59) has garnered a higher WhoScored rating than Sandro (7.56) for Juventus in Serie A.
