Manchester City can't restart contract talks with Sane until April
Contract talks between Leroy Sane and Manchester City cannot continue until April leaving Pep Guardiola's side frustrated, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Sane will only have 12 months left to run on his current City deal at the end of the season and has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich for the last year.
Bayern are determined to prise Sane back to Germany after earmarking the winger as a long-term replacement for Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.
The Bundesliga leaders had several bids for Sane knocked back last summer only for the 24-year-old to suffer a serious knee injury in the Community Shield.
The general feeling is City will reluctantly sell Sane to Bayern at the end of the season but the Premier League champions haven't given up complete hope.
However, Pep Guardiola's side cannot even continue to discuss a new contract with Sane until April after the Germany international changed agents at the start of the year.
Sane's old representatives, DB Ventures Limited, had a three-month notice clause in their deal with the City ace that means new represenatives cannot start working with their old client until April 1.
It means City will have little time to try and convince Sane to pledge his long-term future to the club and it increases the chances of him leaving in the summer.
Sane has recently returned to training after several months out injured and City have really missed his threat from wide areas this season.
He reached double figures for goals and assists in each of the previous two league campaigns (45 in total) and his return will boost City's chances of winning the Champions League.
