Tottenham star ruled out against Manchester United

Tottenham have announced Harry Kane has suffered a minor hamstring strain and will miss Saturday's trip to Old Trafford.

Kane was forced off in the dying embers of Tottenham’s 4-1 win over Liverpool last weekend and appeared to clutch his hamstring as he departed the pitch.

Mauricio Pochettino allayed fears after the match and claimed Kane was just suffering from fatigue rather than a muscle injury, before resting the England international in their midweek cup defeat to West Ham.

Kane underwent a precautionary scan in midweek and results have revealed Tottenham's worst fears, which also makes him a huge doubt for their Champions League clash with Real Madrid next week.

Kane has been in tremendous form for club and country in the last two months and his absence is a real blow for Pochettino's side, with Fernando Llorente set to lead the line as a result.

Not least because the 24-year-old is the top goalscorer in the Premier League this season (8 goals), but also because he is the highest rated away player in England’s top-tier this term (8.67).
