Liverpool ready to spend €65m for Mohamed Salah successor
Liverpool are prepared to offer €65m for Real Sociedad forward Takefusa Kubo as they identify successors for Mohamed Salah, reports Japanese outlet Sponichi via TEAMtalk.
Salah turned 32 last month and the Reds are aware they need to begin a succession plan for the Egypt international.
And they have identified Kubo as the long-term replacement for Salah, who scored 18 and provided 10 assists in the Premier League last season as the Merseyside outfit finished third.
Kubo started 24 of 38 league matches for Real Sociedad last season, scoring seven and providing four assists in the process.
Salah has just one year left to run on his current deal at Anfield and uncertainty over his future at Anfield could see Liverpool accelerate their interest in Kubo.
Kubo has been a key man for Real Sociedad since joining permanently from Real Madrid in 2022 and Liverpool are supposedly ready to make the 23-year-old the most expensive Japanese player of all time.
