Bayern Munich eye shock move for Manchester United goalkeeper

Bayern Munich have earmarked Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson as a potential long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer, claims The Daily Mail.

The Bundesliga champions have their eye on Neuer's successor amid concerns the 33-year-old is past his best.  

Arsenal shot-stopper Bernd Leno has already been touted with a move to Bayern but it has now emerged the German outfit are keeping tabs on Henderson's progress.

The 22-year-old has impressed during his first season of Premier League football on loan at Sheffield United but is unlikely to have a long-term future at United.

Henderson had set his sights on replacing De Gea at Old Trafford when it looked likely the Spain international would leave United in the summer.

However, De Gea finally pledged his long-term future to United in the summer and now it is more than likely Henderson will have to establish himself as a No.1 elsewhere.

Despite his impressive start to the season, Bayern's interest still comes as a shock, while it is also reported the Bundesliga side want Tottenham's 17-year-old striker Troy Parrott.

The highly rated forward made his debut for the Republic of Ireland senior side during the international break and has been tipped for a huge future.

Tottenham supporters will be concerned about Parrott's pathway to their first-team in the wake of Jose Mourinho's arrival on Wednesday.

Of goalkeepers that have started at least five Premier League matches this season, Henderson has the best save success rate in the division (81%).
