Tottenham stars Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Jan Vertonghen are on the verge of signing new deals, according to the London Evening Standard.
All three have been in integral to Spurs’ success this season as they close in on their first league title in 55 years, but only have two years left remaining on their respective deals.
A new contract for Lamela, in particular, would cap a sensational turnaround in fortunes for the Argentine under Mauricio Pochettino.
The 24-year-old looked on his way out of White Hart Lane after failing to make any impression at the club following his £25.8m from Roma in 2013, but he has since proven to be an integral player to Pochettino this season.
It is actually Lamela’s incessant work-rate that has seen him win over the Tottenham faithful rather than his creative output this season. In fact, only Idrissa Gueye (56) has committed more fouls than Lamela (55) in the Premier League this season.
