Former United striker denies Barca and Chelsea talk

Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie has denied he has held talks with Chelsea and Barcelona over a January move.

Van Persie, 32, emerged as a shock target for Barcelona earlier in the month before Chelsea reportedly entered the race to sign the former Manchester United frontman.

However, the Netherlands international has quashed talk of him leaving Fenerbahce, insisting he is still committed to the Yellow Canaries deal he penned over the summer.

“There is a lot of talk about Chelsea and Barcelona but I have received no offers and I am dedicated to Fenerbahce,” Van Persie told Turkish Football.

The Dutchman has struggled to settle in Istanbul, but has still weighed in with a decent return of five goals from his 12 appearances.
