Former England manager Roy Hodgson is pondering dropping into the Championship as a route back to football management, reports the Daily Mirror.
Hodgson was dismissed as England boss back in the summer following their abysmal Euro 2016 campaign which culminated in a last-16 defeat to Iceland and has been out of work since his sacking.
The 70-year-old spoke with Leicester following Claudio Ranieri’s dismissal earlier this term, only for the Foxes to stick with the Italian’s former number 2 Craig Shakespeare until the end of the campaign.
Hodgson has now thrown his hat in the ring to take over at Norwich following Alex Neil’s dismissal on Friday.
Gary Rowett was linked with the role before succeeding Steve McClaren as Derby boss, while former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew was the favourite to take over at Carrow Road.
Club officials are yet to be convinced by Pardew, leaving Hodgson with the opportunity to return to the game as Norwich manager.
