Real Madrid offer midfielder in part-exchange for Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar

Real Madrid are prepared to use Casemiro as a makeweight in a deal to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain, claims MARCA.

PSG are running out of patience with Neymar’s behaviour and are prepared to sell the Brazil international just two years after making him the most expensive player of all-time.

Neymar is yet to complete a full season with PSG and another serious ankle injury has ruled him out of this summer’s Copa America in Brazil.

Barcelona are in talks with PSG about Neymar’s potential return but it has now emerged their Spanish rivals, Madrid, are on the market for the 27-year-old.

Madrid have accepted defeat in their pursuit of PSG striker Kylian Mbappe and have now turned their attentions to Neymar.

PSG want to recoup their full investment in order to sanction Neymar’s departure but Madrid believe they can solve a problem position in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

The Ligue 1 champions have failed to fill the defensive midfield position since Thiago Motta lost his place in the team at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

PSG were heavily linked with a move for Napoli midfielder Allan in January but now Madrid are prepared to offer Casemiro in part-exchange for Neymar.

Zinedine Zidane is overhauling his squad this summer and is prepared to let Casemiro go as he re-juggles his midfield.

PSG are long-term admirers of Casemiro but it remains to be seen whether his arrival would tempt them into accepting a lower fee for Neymar.

It’s also unclear where Neymar would fit into Zidane’s plans at Madrid having already spent more than £150m into signing Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic this summer.

In the last three LaLiga campaigns only Saul Niguez (317) has made more tackles than Casemiro (295).
