Leicester consider move for former Manchester United target

Leicester are pondering a £20m move for former Manchester United target and Monaco midfielder Youri Tielemans, reports 90min.com.

Monaco have endured a difficult season and on Friday reappointed Leonardo Jardim as their new manager following the departure of Thierry Henry.

The 21-year-old only moved to Monaco 18 months ago, but the Foxes are hopeful a deal can be struck before next week’s January transfer deadline.

Tielemans has scored five goals for the Ligue 1 side this season, but Monaco remain one point and one place off the foot of the table in France’s top tier.

Vicente Iborra’s move to Villarreal and Adrien Silva’s possible King Power Stadium exit threatens to leave Leicester short of midfield options.

Upon his move to Monaco from Anderlecht, Tielemans penned a five-year deal at the Stade Louis II but his time in France could be coming to a premature end.

Like a number of his Monaco teammates, the Belgium international has struggled for consistency and Leicester are now weighing up a move for the young midfielder to offer him the chance of Premier League game time.
