Liverpool reach Klopp agreement

Liverpool have reached an agreement with former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp to be their new manager, less than a week after sacking Brendan Rodgers.

Klopp, 48, has been out of work since the end of last season when he stepped down as Dortmund manager following seven years at the club.

The charismatic German had intended to take a full year out of the game to recharge his batteries following a strenuous final campaign at the Westfalenstadion, which saw BVB finish seventh.

However, he has cut short his sabbatical after four months and will pen a three-year deal to replace Rodgers as Liverpool manager in the next 24 hours.

Liverpool are currently just in the top 10 but are just three points off the top four after eight matches.
