Manchester City star wants to join Real Madrid

Sergio Aguero has decided he wants to leave Manchester City at the end of the season and join Real Madrid, reports The Sun .

The 28-year-old’s future at the club has been in doubt all season and speculation only intensified after he dropped below Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order at the start of the month.

With Jesus now expected to miss the rest of the season with a foot injury, Aguero has regained his place in the team and showed his worth with a brace in their stunning 5-3 win over Monaco in the Champions League last week.

However, Aguero, who has never previously had to fight for the right to start, has now decided he wants to leave City at the end of the season and return to Spain.

City signed Aguero from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and the Argentina international has established himself as one of the best ever strikers in Premier League history, but now wants to make the controversial switch to their city rivals, Madrid.

However, Zinedine Zidane’s side will need to fork out at least £60m in order to secure Aguero’s services, which may prove too much for the reigning European champions given his age.

Since joining City, Aguero has scored at least 35 more goals than any other player in the Premier League (113).
