Newcastle are on the verge of signing Gent goalkeeper Matz Sels, according to the Newcastle Chronicle.
Sels, 24, is set to undergo his medical on Tuesday ahead of completing a move in the region of £4.5m.
There are doubts over Tim Krul’s long-term future at the club and Sels’ arrival is seen as the biggest indicator that he will leave this summer.
Sels kept 11 clean sheets in 30 regular season appearances for Gent last season and only conceded 29 goals in that time.
