Real Madrid are weighing up whether to part ways with Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo next summer, according to ESPN.
Both players have been heavily linked with a move away from the Spanish capital in the last few months and Madrid are now seriously considering which one to let go at the end of the season, according to reports.
Florentino Perez has reportedly become tired of Ronaldo’s attitude and, at 30, it would make sense to let someone go while still being able to recoup and incredible sum. Ronaldo’s departure would also pave the way for Bale to truly establish himself as Madrid’s supremo.
However, Perez is also mindful of the image of the club and the potential backlash from the fans should their club record goalscorer depart still at the peak of his powers.
On the other hand, Bale is still struggling to adapt to the Spanish lifestyle and there have been suggestions he has few strong friends in the dressing room at the Santiago Bernabéu, not least with the key players.
Selling the Welshman, however, would be a real dent to Perez’s credibility, after making him the most expensive player on the planet when he signed Bale from Spurs in 2013.
Both Ronaldo (7.68) and Bale (7.65) are among Madrid’s top five highest ranked players in La Liga this season.
