Southampton ace pens new four-year deal

Southampton have announced Dusan Tadic has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal keeping him at the club until 2020.

Tadic, 27, had entered the final two years of his previous deal and had intended to leave St. Mary’s this summer after falling out with previous manager Ronald Koeman.

However, Koeman left to manage Everton and Southampton have since appointed Claude Puel, which has convinced the Serbia international to commit his future to the club.

“I am really pleased. I have had two beautiful years here and a great connection with the supporters and everyone in the club – all the players and the staff,” Tadic told Southampton’s official website.

“I am really happy that I have signed a new contract. The club showed a lot of effort to keep me.”

“There were also other possibilities, but we recognised that the best is that I stay in Southampton, and I want to mention they put in a lot of effort for that, and I appreciate that.”
