Bordeaux agree club-record fee for Brazilian top scorer

Bordeaux have reach an agreement in principle with Brazilian side Fluminense for the signing of striker Pedro in a deal worth €17m (£15.3m), claims Goal France.

The French side have been locked in talks with Fluminense for the past few weeks but have finally made a breakthrough in talks.

Bordeaux, who can sign players until the end of the month, now stand to shatter their long-standing club transfer record of £12m paid to AC Milan for Yoann Gourcuff in 2009.

Pedro received his first ever senior call-up for the Brazilian national team on Friday and is now poised to sign a five-year deal with Bordeaux.

Bordeaux agree club-record fee for Brazilian top scorer

Bordeaux have endured a whirlwind week after suspending head coach Gus Poyet for his criticism over the club’s decision to sell Gaetan Laborde against his wishes.

Les Girondins sold star man Malcom to Barcelona earlier this summer but are now set to bolster their offensive options with another Brazilian in the shape of Pedro.

The 21-year-old is currently the top scorer in this season’s Brasileirao and the only player to reach double figures for goals (10).
