Harry Kane will not commit his long-term future to Tottenham unless Daniel Levy gives the green light on his £120,000-a-week wage demands, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The England international still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current £60,000-a-week salary he signed in February 2015 and has agreed to put on-going contract talks on hold for the meanwhile.
Tottenham have already secured the long-term futures of a number of star players this season but are now no longer in talks with Kane or captain Hugo Lloris, who are both looking to earn more than Levy’s current wage structure allows for.
Levy is determined to ensure no Tottenham player earns above £100,000-a-week, with Lloris currently the highest paid player at the club on £80,000-a-week.
Neither Kane nor Lloris will be short of suitors should they look to play their football elsewhere, leaving Levy with a potential problem on his hands if the club fail to come to a compromise with the two players.
In the last three Premier League campaigns only Sergio Aguero (58) has scored more goals than Kane (49).
