Arsenal want to sign £25m-rated Norwich defender Max Aarons this summer, reports The Daily Mirror.
The Gunners are in the process of wrapping up a £50m deal for Brighton centre-back Ben White and Mikel Arteta wants to overhaul his defensive options further.
Arsenal have already signed left-back Nuno Tavares from Benfica this summer and Aarons has been earmarked as Hector Bellerin's replacement.
Bellerin is free to leave Arsenal this summer and has already been linked with a move to Inter after the Serie A outfit sold Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain.
Aarons has been heavily linked with moves to Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the past but the England Under-21 international is now on Arsenal's radar.
The 21-year-old helped Norwich secure promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt last season, starting all but one of their 46 league matches.
Norwich have already lost Emi Buendia to Aston Villa this season and the departure of Aarons would be a further blow to their attempts to beat the drop.
Aarons completed more dribbles than any other defender in the Championship last season (61).
