Everton spend big on deadline day

Everton have announced they have completed a £13.5m deal to sign Lokomotiv Moscow striker Oumar Niasse.

Chelsea had previously been linked with a move for Niasse this month, but is Everton that have won the race to land the 25-year-old.

Niasse has spent the last two years with Lokomotiv Moscow following a stint in Turkey and has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal at Goodison Park.

“We’re delighted because Oumar is a player we have been following for a long time,” Martinez told Evertontv.

“He is the right personality and someone who is in a very good moment of his career. He has had a lot of success in Russia and he brings a different quality to what we already have in our squad.

“I’m really pleased to be able to bring in Oumar in this window. We moved a couple of players on and the freshness Oumar Niasse brings is going to be very positive going forward."

Since the start of the season, only Hulk (20) has played a direct hand in more league goals than Niasse (14).
