Manchester City set to beat Paris Saint-Germain to top transfer target
Alexis Sanchez will turn down a stunning offer from Paris Saint-Germain in January in order to secure a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City in the summer, reports The Daily Mirror.
The Chile international will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides from the start of next month when he will only have six months remaining on his existing Arsenal deal.
City failed to get a £60m deal for Sanchez over the line in the summer but Guardiola is now prepared to wait until the summer to reunite with the former Barcelona forward when his Arsenal deal expires.
Guardiola is concerned that January signings could unsettle the City dressing room and has been given a huge boost in that Sanchez is willing to wait until the end of the season to make the switch.
Sanchez will even turn down a mega money offer from PSG to put pen to paper on an equally mouthwatering £400,000-a-week deal with Premier League leaders City.
The 29-year-old’s performances this season have divided opinion among Arsenal fans and his attitude in training is reportedly causing tension with his team-mates. He has scored or assisted seven goals in 15 league appearances this season but his WhoScored rating (7.23) is way down on last season (7.76).
