Pratto leaving Atletico Mineiro for Europe

Sevilla and AC Milan target Lucas Pratto will not play for Atletico Mineiro next season and will secure a move to Europe in January, according to Goal Argentina.

Pratto has established himself as one of Atletico’s best players since joining the club in December 2014 and his performances even earned him international recognition with Argentina this year.

Palmeiras were interested in signing Pratto as their replacement for Gabriel Jesus, who has now joined Manchester City, but the Argentine striker is only interested in moving to Europe as he enters his peak years.

Sevilla and Milan have previously been mooted with a move for the 28-year-old and could step up their interest in the January transfer market as they look to bolster their squads for the remainder of the season.

Atletico are reportedly looking to fetch €15m (£13m) for the striker, who has two years remaining on his existing deal with the club. Pratto only made his debut for Argentina in September and has four caps to his name, scoring his first goal in Argentina’s 2-2 draw with Venezuela on his second appearance.

In 18 league appearances last season he only managed to score five goals for Atletico.
