Juventus will offer Zenit €5m (£4.5m) for Axel Witsel in January, according to Mediaset Premium, via Football Italia.
Max Allegri’s side were on the verge of signing Witsel in a deal worth €25m (£22.3m) the summer only for the move to collapse on the last day of the transfer window after Zenit failed to find a replacement in time.
Witsel’s existing deal is due to expire at the end of the season and Juventus have lowered their offer substantially as a result.
In the last four Russian Premier League seasons only Sergei Ignashevich (4728) has completed more passes than Witsel (4454).
