Giroud delays Lazio decision on Tottenham interest

Olivier Giroud has received a pre-contract offer from Lazio but is still waiting on Tottenham before deciding his future, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Giroud will leave Chelsea on a free transfer at the end of the season when his current deal expires after falling completely out of favour under Frank Lampard.

The France international was desperate to leave Chelsea last month but Lampard's side failed to sign a replacement in time.

Lazio, Inter and Tottenham were all interested in signing Giroud in the January transfer market.

The former have already made their move to sign Giroud on a Bosman transfer this summer but the veteran is in no rush to make a decision on his future.

Giroud first wants to see if Tottenham pursue Giroud on a free transfer at the end of the season before giving Lazio the green-light to a move.

The 33-year-old has been limited to just five Premier League appearances and is in danger of failing to score in a league campaign for the first time since 2005/06 (0 goals in six games for Grenoble in Ligue 2).
