Zaha keen to leave Crystal Palace for Tottenham

Wilfried Zaha has turned down a new £120,000-a-week contract with Crystal Palace to try and force through a move to Tottenham, reports The Times.

Palace are determined to keep hold of the Ivory Coast international and even offered him a new long-term deal to make him the club’s joint-top earner.

Zaha played an integral part in Palace’s survival last season but now the 25-year-old is ready to have a second stint at a top Premier League side.

Tottenham have been monitoring Zaha’s future over the last two years but are not willing to meet Palace’s £70m valuation despite wanting to strengthen in attack.

The Eagles are in no rush to sell Zaha due to the fact he has four years remaining on his existing deal but the former Manchester United winger wants out.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy notoriously likes to drive hard bargains and will do his best to drive down Zaha’s price even it means dragging out a transfer until deadline day.

Palace lost all nine Premier League games Zaha did not start last season, while only Eden Hazard (165) completed more dribbles than the Ivorian (119).
