Southampton have £15m bid accepted for Ings replacement
Southampton are closing in on a replacement for Danny Ings after their £15m bid for Championship striker Adam Armstrong was accepted by Blackburn, reports The Guardian.
Ings left Southampton for Aston Villa in a shock £30m transfer at the end of last week to leave Ralph Hasenhuttl's side short in attack just a week out from the start of the new season.
Southampton have quickly identified Armstrong as their top transfer target to replace Ings and are now free to discuss personal terms with the 24-year-old after their bid was accepted by Blackburn.
Blackburn are resigned to losing Armstrong after missing out on promotion last season, with the 24-year-old now into the final 12 months of his current deal and looking to make the next step in his career.

The Championship outfit were hoping to fetch around £20m for Armstrong, with former club Newcastle entitled to 40% of any profits from his transfer in 2018, but Southampton have managed to bring the price down.
Armstrong, who is booked in for his Southampton medical on Tuesday, has been linked with several Premier League clubs all summer after scoring 28 goals in the Championship last season.
