Everton and West Ham eye Barcelona striker

Everton and West Ham are both interested in signing Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite at the end of the season, claims AS.

Barcelona only signed Braithwaite in February after exploiting a ruling in Spain that allows clubs to register a new player outside the transfer window to cover an injured player.

The Spanish side did so once it was confirmed Ousmane Dembele would be out for six-months and signed Braithwaite from LaLiga strugglers Leganes for £15M.

Barcelona now expect to have Luis Suarez back from injury once football gets the greenlight to resume and Braithwaite's future at the club is already in doubt.

Braithwaite made three league appearances for Barcelona before football was suspended and is now attracting interest from Premier League duo Everton and West Ham.

Both clubs are keen to bolster their offensive options for next season but Barcelona will not accept a loss on the 28-year-old.

The Denmark international has experience of playing in England already but his 18-month stint in the Championship with Middlesbrough was a failure.

Braithwaite scored eight goals in 36 appearances in England's second-tier before securing a move to Spain in January 2019.
