Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has completed a move to PAOK after Aston Villa refused to meet the Bulgarians wage demands in the final hours of deadline day on Tuesday.
Berbatov, 34, had been linked with a move to Villa Park throughout the summer and Tim Sherwood’s side looked to have revived a deal over the last 48 hours, but refused to meet the former Tottenham strikers’ excessive wage demands.
The former Bulgaria international has spent the last two years playing for Monaco, before being released at the start of the summer. In that time, no player has scored more goals for the Les Rouges et Blancs in Ligue 1 than Berbatov (13).
