Inter have agreed to sign Fenerbahce left-back Caner Erkin on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season, reports Mediaset Premium, via Football Italia.
Erkin, who has entered the final few months of his contract, has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months.
However, the Turkey international has ignored any interest from Liverpool and reportedly put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Inter when his deal at Fenerbahce expires in the summer.
Erkin’s arrival has also confirmed that Inter will opt against making Alex Telles’ loan deal from Galatasaray permanent at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old is an adventurous left-back, who can also play further forward down the flank, and can prove an extra attacking outlet.
In fact, no Fenerbahce player averaged more key passes per game (2.3) in the Europa League prior to them being knocked out by Braga in the knockout phase, nor did anyone register more assists in UEFA’s second-tier competition (2).
