Inter have made an approach to Jan Vertonghen about a summer transfer from Tottenham, claims the London Evening Standard.
Vertonghen has entered the final six months of his current Tottenham deal and is free to discuss a Bosman transfer with foreign sides.
Tottenham have made no breakthrough with Vertonghen about renewing with the club and he is on course to leave for nothing at the end of the season.
Inter have raided the Premier League for numerous players over the last 12 months and even signed Christian Eriksen from Tottenham last month.
In addition to signing the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young and Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United in that time, Antonio Conte now wants to prise Vertonghen to Italy.
The 32-year-old has spent the last eight years at Tottenham and spent most of that time as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.
A return to Ajax has also been mooted for Vertonghen this summer but now his boyhood club face competition from Inter.
Vertonghen has been limited to just 17 Premier League starts this season and is on course to garner his lowest ever WhoScored rating in a single-league campaign for the club (6.87).
