Barcelona’s international sporting director Ariedo Braida has denied suggestions defender Martin Montoya could return from his loan deal at Inter in January.
Montoya, 24, joined Inter on loan over the summer but has reportedly had troubles settling and reports have fuelled regarding his return with Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio due in Barcelona this week.
However, Braida has refuted claims that suggest the purpose of his visit is to negotiate Montoya’s return.
“I don’t think his trip has to do with the transfer market,” he told FCInterNews.
“He’ll come and watch the games he wants. As for Montoya and his alleged difficulties at Inter, frankly I have no idea.
“Firstly, it’s too early to talk about it, September isn’t even over yet. But I can say that this is a hoax.”
Montoya is yet to make a single appearance for Roberto Mancini’s side since his arrival.
