Former Manchester United defender makes Inter move

Inter have confirmed the signing of former Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian on a season-long loan deal from Parma.

Darmian departed United last summer, penning a four-year deal with Parma as he became a first team regular for the Serie A outfit after finding playing time hard to come by for the Premier League side.

However, Inter have since confirmed the capture of the 30-year-old, with the Nerazzuri including an obligation to buy next summer.

"Matteo Darmian is officially a new Inter player," a statement read on the club's official website.

"The 30-year-old Italian defender has joined the Nerazzurri from Parma Calcio on an initial loan deal, with there being an obligation to make the transfer permanent upon the expiry of the loan."

Inter have been busy in the transfer market, securing the services of Achraf Hakimi, Aleksandar Kolarov and Arturo Vidal, while Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella are among those who have had their loan moves made permanent.

Antonio Conte's side have made an unbeaten start to the season, securing wins over Fiorentina and Benevento, before they were held to a 1-1 draw with Lazio at the weekend.
