Manchester United considering big money move for Bayern Munich duo
Manchester United are interested in signing Bayern Munich pair Robert Lewandowski and Thiago Alcantara, claims The Independent.
The Premier League giants have signed Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant this summer but only the former is expected to be a first-team regular this season.
Jose Mourinho wants to bolster his creative options before the window closes next month and has added Lewandowski and Thiago to his transfer wish list.
United missed out on Thiago’s signature to Bayern Munich in 2012 but now the Spain international is free to leave the Bundesliga champions.
Thiago’s preference is to return to boyhood club Barcelona but Mourinho would be interested in prising the 27-year-old to Old Trafford.
Mourinho is also ready to rekindle his long-standing interest in Lewandowski, having failed to sign the Poland international during spells as Chelsea and Real Madrid boss.
Lewandowski wanted to join Madrid at the start of the summer but is reportedly now re-considering his Bayern future with the European champions seemingly looking at other targets.
The 29-year-old finished last season as the Bundesliga’s top goal scorer and has scored at least 25 league goals in each of the last three campaigns.
