Newcastle have been knocked back in their attempts to sign Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert, according to Sky Sports.
Brighton only signed Knockaert from Standard Liege in January and the former Leicester City winger has already been a sensation for the club.
The 24-year-old would have been Newcastle’s eighth signing of the summer but their bid for the former France Under-21 international has been rejected.
Knockaert played a direct hand in 11 goals in 21 league appearances for Brighton last season (five goals, six assists) to finish as the club’s highest rated player (7.41).
