Tony Pulis agrees West Brom extension

West Brom announced on Friday morning that Tony Pulis has agreed terms to a new one-year extension keeping him at the club until at least 2019.

Pulls has been manager of the Baggies since January 2015 and the former Stoke boss has consolidated their position as one of the Premier League’s mid-table sides.

There have been murmurings of discontent along the way, usually based around transfers, but the 59-year-old has now agreed to extend his stay by a further year.

“I am delighted to extend my contract because it continues the stability within the club which is essential for progress,” Pulis told the club’s official website.

“I’ve said all along that we are in a building phase which requires a step by step process. I think we’ve seen an improvement all across the club in recent seasons and we must continue that in what is such a tough, tough league.

“Having spoken to John at great length over the summer, we know this club has a direction it needs to follow and we are determined to do that.”

Pulls has taken charge of 107 matches as West Brom manager at a win ratio of (32.7%). In fact, he is only averaging 1.25 points per game with the Baggies, which is the lowest he has managed across his last five jobs.
