Arsenal midfielder linked with Serie A return

Serie A side AC Milan are preparing a £35m summer move for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, reports Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport. 

The Uruguayan is currently recovering from an ankle injury sustained in the Gunners' FA Cup win over Portsmouth last month. 

However, the 24-year-old has struggled for game time at the Emirates Stadium this season having starting just 15 Premier League matches. 

And a return to Italy has been on the cards for some time now with Torreira failing to make the impact expected of him following his arrival from Sampdoria almost two years ago. 

AC Milan have endured a disappointing campaign in Serie A and currently sit seventh in Italy's top tier and the Milan powerhouse are looking to add another midfielder to the squad ahead of the 2020/21 season, whenever that may kick off.

Of the nine wins Arsenal have earned in the Premier League this season, only two have come in the 15 league matches Torreira has started in 2019/20.
