Barcelona scouts tracking German sensation

Barcelona have made matching Leroy Sane’s €37m (£28.7m) release clause one of their main objectives this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Sane, 20, has emerged as one of the hottest talents on the continent this season and has already been firmly linked with a move to Barcelona and Manchester City this season.

However, it is Barcelona who have moved to the front of queue to sign the Germany international after they sent scouts to watch Schalke’s 2-1 defeat away to Mainz in the league at the weekend.

It is now being reported in Spain that the reigning European champions have made signing Sane one of their top transfer priorities this summer, although they will have to match his release clause in order to prize him away from Schalke.

Of players to have featured in at least 20 games in the Bundesliga this season, only teammate Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (22.2 mins) requires fewer minutes per dribble than Sane (24.1 mins).
