Manchester United and Juventus have been put on red alert after Kenny Tete rejected Ajax’s latest contract offer, reports The Sun.
Tete, 20, is enjoying a successful breakout campaign under Frank de Boer this season and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed outside of Holland.
United are expected to strengthen their defence in the summer and they are reportedly interested in signing the Netherlands international, who will only have two years remaining on his current deal in the summer.
Louis van Gaal’s side can expect fierce competition from Juventus, who have earmarked signing a new right-back as one of their top priorities in the summer with Stephan Lichtsteiner’s age a concern in the long-term.
Tete has particularly excelled in the Europa League this season. In fact, only Nikita Korzun (5) is averaging more tackles per game in UEFA’s second-tier than Tete (4.8) this season.
