Manchester United duo emerge as doubts for Tottenham match
Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera have emerged as doubts for Saturday’s home meeting with Tottenham after picking up minor injuries in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Swansea, claims ESPN.
Jose Mourinho revealed after their EFL Cup triumph over Swansea that his players had escaped injury but it has now emerged that Rashford and Herrera picked up knocks at the Liberty Stadium.
Rashford complained on tightness in his hamstring during the first half before Romelu Lukaku replaced the England international with just over 20 minutes remaining.
Herrera was also subbed off at the same time and is believed to be carrying an ankle injury following a Kyle Naughton tackle, but both are expected to recover in time to start against Tottenham.
United’s medical staff will continue to monitor the duo ahead of Saturday’s early kick-off, but Mourinho’s side are confident both will be available.
Rashford has played a direct hand in 15 goals in 18 matches for club and countries this season and his absence would be a huge blow considering Mourinho is already set to be without Paul Pogba this weekend.
