Kruse back in Bremen training

Werder Bremen have received welcome news during the international break after Max Kruse returned to full-training.

Kruse, 28, re-joined Bremen over the summer after 12 months at Wolfsburg but hasn’t featured for the club since August after being sidelined with stomach problems.

However, Bremen have now announced the Germany international has recovered from the problem that has kept him out of action for more than two months and returned to training with the first team.

Alexander Nouri’s side have made a dreadful start to the season and Kruse’s imminent return will be a huge confidence boost. Bremen have only won two of their opening 10 league matches this season and currently occupy the relegation play-off spot, five points clear of the bottom two.

Despite not making a single appearance this season, Kruse has completed more key passes than any other player in the last seven Bundesliga campaigns (388).
