Everton target Zaha hands in transfer request

Wilfried Zaha has handed in a transfer request to force through a move away from Crystal Palace this summer, claims Sky Sports.

Zaha informed Palace of his desire to leave at the end of last season but Roy Hodgson’s side have rejected several bids from Arsenal and Everton.

Arsenal ended their pursuit to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille in a club-record move worth £72m and Palace have rejected Everton’s latest bid worth more than £80m.

Everton returned with an improved offer of £70m plus James McCarthy and Cenk Tosun on permanent deals but Palace turned it down on Tuesday.

Zaha is furious with the way Palace have handed his future this summer, as they agreed to let him leave if they received a reasonable offer.

The transfer window for English clubs shuts on Thursday and Zaha feels he has been left with no choice but to hand in a transfer request in a last ditch attempt to leave.

Last season saw Zaha hit 10 goals in a single Premier League campaign for the first time in his career, while only Eden Hazard (137) completed more dribbles than the former Manchester United winger (114).
