Stoke set to sign Arnautovic replacement

Stoke have agreed a transfer to sign former Schalke winger Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on a three-year deal, reports The Daily Mail.

Mark Hughes is on the market for a new left winger after selling star man Marko Arnautovic to West Ham earlier this summer.

Choupo-Moting is currently a free agent after his contract with Schalke expired at the end of last season and is now poised to become Stoke’s fourth signing of the summer, and third free transfer.

The 28-year-old only made 19 league appearances for Schalke last season and finished with his lowest goal return (3) since the 2010/11 campaign with Hamburg (2).

Of the 40 players that have scored at least 15 goals in the last three Bundesliga campaigns, only four players had a worse conversion rate than Choupo-Moting (10.8%).
