Ex-United striker eyes Premier League return

Fenerbahce outcast Robin van Persie has been offered to Stoke City, reports The Daily Mail.

Van Persie, 32, has been transfer listed by the Turkish giants after just 12 months at the club and is keen to return to the Premier League.

The former Manchester United and Arsenal striker has also been offered to West Ham, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough but none of those clubs have been willing to match his wage demands.

Stoke are now the latest club that have been offered Van Persie’s services and Mark Hughes’ side are interested in signing a striker amid links to West Brom’s Saido Berahino.

Of players that scored at least 10 goals in the Turkish Super Lig last season, only Mario Gomez scored more frequently than Van Persie (every 114.5 mins).
