West Ham are set to reward Michail Antonio with a new deal that will double his current salary as they look to ward off potential interest in his signature in the summer, reports The Daily Mail.
Antonio has established himself as one of West Ham’s best players in the last 12 months and his performances have even seen him linked with a move to Monday’s opponents Chelsea.
The 26-year-old currently earns £35,000-a-week but West Ham are prepared to double that if Antonio agrees to extend his stay beyond 2020, when his current deal expires.
Antonio, who earned his first England call-up in August, will miss Monday’s clash with Chelsea after being sent off in their 1-1 draw with Watford, but the Hammers are keen to avoid losing another star man following the departure of Dimitri Payet in January.
In the last two Premier League campaigns no player has scored more headed goals in the Premier League than Antonio (12).
