One-time Chelsea target Alessio Romagnoli is the subject of interest from Premier League rivals Everton, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The young Italian was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge last summer, but AC Milan rebuffed any attempts by the Blues to lure the centre-back away from San Siro.
Chelsea eventually spent big to re-sign David Luiz from PSG and while they are in the market for another centre-back this summer, they have reportedly cooled their interest in Romagnoli.
Everton have since stolen a march on the 22-year-old and are believed to be readying an opening gambit of £25m for the defender.
Manager Ronald Koeman has made acquiring a new goalkeeper a top priority, with Jordan Pickford allegedly close to a move to Goodison Park, but is prepared to spend big to bolster the defence in the summer.
It remains to be seen, though, whether AC Milan would be willing to allow one of their prized assets to leave for as little as £25m, especially with the centre-back registering 25 league starts this season.
The Serie A giants are also under no pressure to sell Romagnoli, who has three years left to run on his current deal in Milan, but that’s unlikely to deter Everton from firming up their interest in the youngster this summer.

There's no way in hell Milan would sell him for 25m. They bought him for 21m, he's playing very well, he's young, he's Italian, and Roma is also eligible for 30% of the profit. 35m would be far more believable, if Milan even has the smallest intention of selling.
