Newcastle complete signing of England international

Newcastle have confirmed the arrival of Tottenham left-back Danny Rose on loan for the remainder of the season.

Tottenham have sanctioned Rose's departure after dropping completely out of favour under new manager Jose Mourinho.

Despite wanting to sign Rose during his time as Manchester United manager, Mourinho has overlooked 29-year-old at Tottenham.

Jan Vertonghen has even been used at left-back over Rose, while Mourinho also has Ryan Sessegnon, Japhet Tanganga and Ben Davies to cover Rose's departure

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce has sought Rose's signature following season-ending injuries to both Paul Dummett and Jetro Willems.

The Magpies have paid a £2m loan fee for Rose and will have the option to make his switch permanent at the end of the season.

Rose will hope to revive his career at St. James' Park and even make a late run to make Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2020.

Of Tottenham players that have started at least 10 games in the Premier League this season, Rose has garnered the lowest WhoScored rating (6.59).
